Moving Forward When Life Feels Overwhelming

I have been reflecting a lot lately on what it feels like to be stuck in between life chapters—those times when you've outgrown the past, but aren't fully ready for what's next. It's a feeling of being in limbo, surrounded by messes that need cleaning up, and tasks that seem endless. It’s overwhelming, but it’s also the space where we grow the most.

I’m sure many of you can relate. Maybe you’ve moved back in with your parents or you're embarking on a new journey, trying to get your life back on track. I’ve been in that exact position recently, with a room full of clutter and tasks I keep putting off. The thought of tackling everything feels daunting, but I realized something important: it doesn’t have to be perfect from the start.

It’s easy to get caught up in social media's perfectly curated versions of life. But real growth is messy. It's about taking things piece by piece, even if it's just decluttering one bag at a time. When we start small, we break the cycle of overwhelm. Step by step, we make progress, and that’s how real change happens.

In this stage, it’s vital to remind ourselves that slow progress is still progress. We don’t need to rush or try to live up to unrealistic standards. It’s okay to be in-between, to take things slowly, and to focus on doing what we can, rather than striving for perfection.

This is a reminder to anyone out there who feels stuck: start today. Whether it's sorting through that one bag you’ve been avoiding, or taking the first step toward a larger goal, just begin. It’s the small actions that lead to big transformations. And remember, you’re not alone—we’re all figuring it out, one step at a time.
